(Other dates in May and June are also possible by arrangement. You are welcome to contact us if there is no suitable date and you would like to join us for a few days. Dates during the week are also possible).

What is actually done at La Perla during the breeding season? How is a stallion inseminated, how is the semen checked and processed and how is a mare inseminated? When and how do we do natural breeding, when and why not? How can you tell if a mare is ready for insemination? What do you see on the ultrasound machine?

We answer these and many other questions at our "Breeding Info Days".

Of course, you won't just get the theoretical answers, you'll also be able to look over Leonie's shoulder and ask all your questions. A short tour of the stud farm and a theoretical introduction are of course also included at the beginning.

And you might even be lucky enough to admire a newborn foal during your stay!

Procedure

The following activities will take place over the two days:

• Theoretical introduction with a coffee and tea break
• Stud management
• Practical part ultrasound of the mares
• Practical part Insemination of the stallions, control and preparation of the semen
• Inseminating the mares
• One of the two afternoons is at your disposal and we recommend, for example, an excursion to Segovia or the Vulture Gorge.

Day 1

Start around 10 a.m. (you will receive detailed information a few days before).

Costs
125.00 euros per person (incl. snacks and drinks during the day in the Salón)

Arrival and accommodation

Accommodation is booked by the participants themselves. Tips on hotels, guesthouses or vacation apartments can be found here.
Price categories from approx. EUR 55 per night and person.

The nearest airport is Madrid. From there you can reach the stud farm, about 130 km from the airport, best by rental car. Google Maps is the easiest way to find the Yeguada la Perla.

We can link you as participants with each other so that you can join forces, e.g. for a joint rental car booking. If you wish to do so, please give us your consent to pass on your contact details to the other participants.
