Painting course "Horses, lavender and more"

For the lavender blossom a special painting course at a special place for beginners and advanced with Christina Bötzel
You may be a guest at our wonderful stud and welcome the foals of the 2023 vintage. Our Lusitanos live free in large herds in the mountains north of Madrid, near Segovia. Especially the beautiful colors of the horses catch the eye. A wonderful place to paint and let your soul dangle.
About Christina Bötzel
Her paintings are created in her small studio in Wetter an der Ruhr, where Christina also runs her art painting school. Her works have been awarded prizes at many international exhibitions. Some paintings are also known through the Vererberlegenden calendar. Currently, she is creating paintings for the La Perla stud calendar. The original cover picture hangs in the seminar room at La Perla. There you will also paint.

Information about the painting course
You will start with an introduction to horse anatomy and the creation of first pencil sketches. Who does not want to paint horses, will get another topic to sketch.
You will also draw live on horseback; the stud farm will provide you with its horses for this purpose,
. If you don't want to draw horses, you can sketch the surrounding flora, fauna and landscape.
Continue with instruction in chalk painting, also known as pastel painting.
The course is equally suitable for beginners and advanced; Christina will pick you up where you are with your painting and expand with you your skills with pencil and chalk.
Who wants can also paint other motifs by prior arrangement, Mediterranean, animals, flowers or landscape. It is also possible to bring your own motif, for example a portrait of your own animal or something else. Please discuss this with Christina in advance so that it can be scheduled accordingly. Through her many years of experience, she can respond to each of her students individually.
Start is Friday at 11:30 am. You will start with a guided tour of the stud farm by Leonie Bühlmann. Then you will get to know each other over lunch in a restaurant.
At 3:00 p.m. the afternoon block will start and you will work on your first sketches in the seminar room.
You will paint on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. respectively.
For the lunch break you can either bring a lunch package and have a picnic or you can eat together in a restaurant; you can arrange this on site.
The afternoon block starts after the lunch break (approx. 3:00 p.m.) and lasts another two hours.
You will paint in the seminar room, at the stud farm and in the pastures with the horses.
If you wish, you are welcome to bring your own material.
Price
The cost of the painting course is 680, - €.
Material
Christina will bring most of the material. Please bring your own sketchbook approx. Din A4 (24/ 21 x 30cm), pencil 2B /or mechanical pencil lead 2B, sharpener and eraser. If you already have pastels and crayons, you are welcome to bring them, no oil pastels.
Snacks and drinks during the course are provided by the stud. Restaurant visits etc. are paid by everyone.
The number of participants is limited. Accompanying persons can explore the diverse sights in the surrounding area during the course.
Those who agree will be added to the WhatsApp group "Painting course La Perla". There you can coordinate to book together vacation apartment, rental car or excursions.
Arrival
The nearest airport is Madrid. From there you can get to the stud farm by rental car. The distance to the airport is about 130km. There is no public transportation to the stud farm.
