The magic of the Lusitanos of La Perla

A hero's journey with horses led by Ulrike Dietmann
Ulrike describes the course:
A unique place - 140 noble Lusitanos living in freedom on a huge area, in herds of mares and stallions, lovingly cared for by Leonie Bühlmann and her team
Pure beauty, grace, naturalness.
"Once in a lifetime you must have been to La Perla", people say. I have been lucky enough to have been there twice. Both times it was pure amazement that a place like this exists. And so were the participants of the workshop I held there in June.
Being there, in the vastness and freedom of this nature is like coming home. There you will find horses with a beauty and spirit that is rarely seen. The horses at La Perla live in conditions that could not be better: plenty of space, life in the herd, lovingly cared for. All this makes the days there so unique and unforgettable.
Therefore, I would like to come back again this year with a small group. We will be inspired by the horses, we will be in the pasture of the mares and foals. We will take our time and go into the silence. If you are brave, you can work with one of the graceful and fine Lusitano stallions.
You are also welcome to participate if you have no horse experience at all. There are very calm and absolutely safe horses. We will find the right one for everyone.
These are the 11 steps of the Hero's Journey that you will experience together with the Lusitanos:
1. who am i? In the encounter with the horses I feel my essence.
2. My call. The horses take me on my soul path.
3. The blockage: What is holding me back from living my pure being? The horses show me.
4. The goal: How do I achieve my goals in the most energetically simple way? Exercises with horses giving me feedback.
5. The Connection: How do I find true connection and unconditional love with the Lusitanos and with all living things?
6. The Heart of the Creature: I find my place in the herd.
7. Tear of Life: I must choose between the old me and the new me. The horses show me the way.
8. Failure: Something wants to be let go. The authentic power wins.
9. Transformation: Shamanic journeying to the power animals.
10. The treasure: What gifts do I take with me from La Perla?
11. The wide view: I see the big picture and find clarity.
These are the practical skills we will practice:
- Body Scan - How can I communicate with my body? Using the Body Scan in the encounter with the horses.
- Perceive energetic boundaries of horses and people.
- Finding deep soulful connection with horses.
- Ground work with horses, leading and free lunging.
- Distinguish authentic from conditioned energy - experience how the horses trust me.
- Being in an authentic community.
The workshop times & what you will learn
1st day
11:30 Meeting and tour of the stud farm with Leonie Bühlmann
13:30 Lunch together
First horse meeting and reflection until 17:30
Day 2, 3, 4: 9:30-17:30
Exercises with the horses, in which you work individually with the horse. Being with the horses. Exchange in the group. You will go through the 11 steps of the Hero's Journey.
Lunch at about 13-14:30 each day.
Day 5:
9:30-12 a.m. Conclusion and conclusion in the following lunch
Participation fee:
880,00 EUR plus 19 % VAT incl. 5 lunches.
Maximum 6 participants.
How to get there:
The nearest airport is Madrid. From there you can get to the stud farm with a rental car. The distance to the airport is about 130km. There is no public transportation to the stud farm.
